Gil returns to play this Saturday in support of his brilliant debut album on Howl Records: Too Early In The Journey (available in-store along with many independent local titles).

Gil Hockman is a founder member of the influential South African band The Buckfever Underground. The band’s seminal album, ‘Saves’, was voted by two national South African newspapers as being one of the ten best albums released in the country between 2000 and 2010.

In late 2009 Gil began performing as a solo artist – playing a mix of country and folk styles – and in August 2011 he released his debut album Too Early In The Journey.

He has played more then 100 shows around South Africa since the begenning of 2010 including performances at Oppikoppi and the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival.
