Gary from GaZo has started a new project with Mark Norrie from Durban rock band Driverlane. Together the two produce electro/rock with elements of electronica, house, ska and reggae. Already busy with their debut album, the two have decided to give us a taste of things to come with the track Luna. Luna is a takes it’s cue from electro-pop tracks and is cute and fun without being cheesy. Get it below and check out their artist page for a full bio.
Here is the first Bon Jovi Friday Mix of 2010… The mixes will be posted monthly (for now) on a Thursday at midday for all of you that are having a Bon Jovi Friday to enjoy… Watch the video to see what we mean!
This first mix was done by the dirtyoldDisco (dirtyoldman and myself) and is a pretty nicely balanced banging (just over an) hour of music with a smooth build-up! Listen to it and let us know what you think!
The Sound (artist page) is a remixer, producer and DJ from Cape Town who has been remixed the likes of kidofdoom and Haezer and worked along side other 021 artists, such as CoDeC. With a possible EP to be released in 2010 and more remixes to follow The Sound is definitely one to watch.
Access Violation is an instrumental track which features heavy distortion along side sweeping synths. It is never overpowering or ‘too heavy’, but instead is great to listen to and it might even get a few bodies moving!
zim dollar bill are Narch and Liver. You may recall Richard the Third writing a bit about them in his Red Bull post. These two kids from Cape Town make fat, bassy electro that just screams dancefloor. Check out their artist profile here, which has links to their facebook & myspace pages where you can stream a few of their other tracks. Grab the track bleh! below, it’s nice ‘n dirty.
Well look what the internet dragged in! Cape Town’s Mix n Blend are the newest addition to our artists section. Check it out here! They make dubsteppy, hip hoppy, jazzy electro crunk soul. My old friend Paul Gala got in touch with me the other day and dropped this one off just in time for Halloween! Some of you may remember Paul as one of the members of South African electro band “Black Rabbit“. Black Rabbit are (sadly ) no more but Paul and Mia (the stunning vocalist from Black Rabbit) are now married and kicking it in the U.K.
Paul assures me that we will be hearing a lot more from him in the future, which is awesome as he is one very talented individual.
The track – as the name suggests – is all about Freddy Krueger, features Mia on vocals and will make you wanna dance in your Halloween costume for the whole weekend! Oh yeah!
So we have a new artist up on the site… known as “Liver” he is from Cape Town and makes some slick beats… Glitch-hop / Downbeat / Breakbeat / Good beat! Read his profile over here and grab a tune from him below, sit back and relax…
We are proud to announce a new artist on our site and it is none other than Sibot AKA DJ Fuck! If you haven’t heard of Sibot you’ve probably been living under a rock. He has been part of some of South Africa’s greatest acts including Max Normal, The Constructus Corporation, The Real Estate Agents and Playdoe to name but a few. Check out his profile in our Artist section and grab a few of his tracks in the Downloads section.
This track is an awesome glitchy track with filthy, kickin’ bass line that just begs you to freak out on the dancefloor. Not sure if this is released as a DJ Fuck remix or Sibot, either way it’s a bangin’ tune worth checkin’ out!
